Hi — we are Quiet TownP. Lisa and Michael started the studio because bath mats and shower curtains were things you needed and rarely loved.
When the work first launched, it was a Brooklyn brand through and through: nights and weekends, a factory a few miles from the house, a trunk packed with beach gear all year. That Brooklyn sewing room still makes the canvas curtains. The partnership never left.
The two of them recently packed the North Fork of Long Island for the Bay Area, a place they lived twenty years ago and never quite stopped talking about. Showers are shorter in the name of water. Days are slower in the name of hills, coast, palms next to redwoods.
California will keep showing up in the color stories and the photographs. The objects stay the same kind of useful: curtains, towels, rugs, hampers, organizers. Daily things, made with partners they actually visit.
